Ur-Dagorlad

Postby :-Echtelion-: » Tuesday, 14.10.2003., 11:30

Is there a Tolkiens book, or a fragment where The Great Battle of Ur-Dagorlad is closer described?

Dagorlad is a plain in Mordor behind the Morannon (the Black Gate). It translates to "Battle Plain", if I'm not mistaken. I believe Anarion (Isildur's brother) was killed there at the end of the Second Age.

Dagorlad is well known, but I've never seen it termed "Ur-Dagorlad." Where does that "Ur" come from?

That's true... I suppose I should have mentioned that in my definition of Dagorlad :coffee:

Sounds like something from the Elder Scrolls series of games to me. Maybe your thinking of Daggerfall or Morrowind?
